How is your work life balance?

1 Year old and already showing me things, I never knew my iPad could do! π€·βοΈ
On a serious note though, this is something I could only have ever dreamt of a few years ago. I was so wrapped up in the business I was running at the time that I believed weekends were the only time I could see my family. π¨π©π§π§
How much of your time does your business take up, and more importantly what affect is it having on your family or personal life? π°
I’ve learnt over the years that yes, my business is important to me and the is vital to the life I can provide for my family. However, having pushed my marriage to the brink. I also learnt that without my family around me, my business would have been pointless. π€¦βοΈ π©π§π§ π
I was doing it all for them at the end of the day, but I was so wrapped up in myself, my business, being the hero that provided everything, I didn’t realise that actually, time with me was more important to my family than the money I was providing! I was ignorant, I was greedy, I was selfish and I blamed my wife for not understanding me. π€
All along, I was the one that didn’t understand! π€¦βοΈ
As a business owner, it is possible to earn great money whilst having a great work life balance! π°π° π¨π©π§π§
Today for example, my wife is due her dental check-up, π©π»βοΈ
Far easier for her to attend, alone, without our 1 year old daughter in tow. πΆπ»
Has it affected my original plans for the day? Yes, but I manage my time in such a way that I can easily move chunks of my day around to suit. π
Sure there are days where this just isn’t possible. I get that and I’m not for one minute suggesting that everyone should be able to pick up and drop work at the drop of a hat. ππ»
Today has been one of those fortunate occasions where I wasn’t booked out of the office for anything. No meetings, no seminars and I don’t coach on a Friday as its’s my day for catching up before the weekend and the beginning of the next week. π
