Running a not-for-profit organisation whilst incredibly satisfying, can feel like a very lonely place.

It’s an around the clock job, with an endless list of tough decisions that need to be made. You try to switch off in the evenings and at weekends, but your mind wanders back into work, making it hard to be fully present with your loved ones and friends.

I know this because I have been there, in fact, I spent over a decade of my life not being fully present with my family and I nearly paid the ultimate price.

It was through reaching out for help and being coached that I not only developed the techniques that allowed me to be fully present during my down time, but I learnt how to move my organisation forwards to achieve things I never dreamt possible. Now my time is solely spent, helping people just like you, achieve their dreams and goals, whilst enjoying the journey. 

When I founded my coaching business, I did so with the intention of helping local businesses. I also decided that every year, I was going to take on a local charity to support in their growth journey.

As a coach, I can bring far more value to a charity through my knowledge and coaching, than I can by making donations as and when I have some surplus cash regardless of how much cash that may be... 

In 2021, I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to work with The Lewis Foundation, just as they were getting to grips with the new post pandemic world and needed to get their charity back up to strength and fast. Afterall, their patients didn't stop getting ill just because there was a worldwide pandemic!

Running a charity and running a business are more alike than most people think, but all too often charities get stuck when it comes to getting themselves noticed. Local charities especially find themselves dwarfed by the big national and multinational organisations that can afford to advertise everywhere and have managed to establish huge brand awareness. 

My primary aim is to help charity owners develop their own skills and knowledge as well as to help them increase their presence across the right marketing and media platforms. This enables them to maximise their ability to create a meaningful impact for their beneficiaries. 

I am not a 'done for you service'. By working with me, you will gain the knowledge and tools to take things into your own hands and ensure you are always getting the best return for your investment in any business transaction moving forward, whether that be marketing, suppliers or recruitment.

So, how do I do it?

Once your funding has been secured, we will work on a number of areas to ensure the long term success of both you and your charity.

We will work hard to establish the deep, underlying reasoning behind you and why you have chosen to do what you are doing.

We then look at your long term vision, mission and goals as a charity. You might think you have this already, but trust me, by the time we finish working together, you will have clarity like you never thought possible.

Once we know why you do what you do and what your long term objectives are, we can set to work on mapping out how you get there (your strategy). This strategy will determine the decisions you make in the years to come.

I have developed the below 9 step process which takes my clients from confusion to clarity.

By the time we have finished working through the 9 steps, you will be more equipped than ever before to deliver on the mission you set out on when you started your charity.

Your personal growth is as big a part of the journey as getting to grips with the day to day tasks you need to undertake in your organisation.

This is the fun part of the journey, as these lessons will last you a lifetime and will be 100% transferrable into anything you do in the future, meaning you will have a head start over most other people you come up against!

For a while we had reached a place where we wanted to take our charity to a national level. To do this we knew we needed to generate more income, resources, sort out our structure and what we really wanted our charity to look like in years to come. However, we just didn't know how to get there, so have been stuck going round in circles.

An opportunity came to work with Adam to provide coaching to us. From day 1 it was great to sit with someone who was not only genuinely interested in what we wanted to achieve but was as excited as we were to make our dreams become a reality.

In just a few months working with Adam, it made us start to open our eyes and realise the things we need to do to make our vision for our charity a reality. It is this realisation of things we need to put into place and the work we need to do, that we know in the long run is going to make our charity amazing.

Without Adam's support we know we would not reach this level of realisation or growth because he opened up our eyes to a whole new way of thinking and shifting the things that were holding us back from our true potential.

For the first time we feel like we can actually make this happen as a result. Where as we were scared about our future, we now feel excited.
